We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help shape the technical direction of critical applications and services. This position combines deep Python development expertise with responsibility for cloud infrastructure, database architecture, external integrations, and cross-stack engineering. The successful candidate will play a central role in modernizing existing systems, developing new platform capabilities, and ensuring technology solutions can support growing transaction volumes and evolving business requirements.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced engineer who can operate across both implementation and architecture. You will work closely with product partners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to define technical strategies, resolve complex engineering challenges, and deliver production-ready solutions from concept through launch and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement backend applications, API services, and distributed components that support payment processing, financial workflows, and transaction-oriented products.
Establish engineering best practices for Python development, including application structure, testing strategies, code reviews, and maintainable software design. Experience with Django is advantageous.
Translate product and business objectives into technical specifications, system designs, and implementation plans that account for performance, security, scalability, and long-term flexibility.
Manage and improve AWS-based environments, focusing on infrastructure reliability, deployment efficiency, security controls, system monitoring, and cloud expenditure.
Direct the technical execution of complex software initiatives, coordinating design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
Build and maintain integrations with payment processors, banking platforms, financial service providers, and other external systems.
Develop robust data models, database structures, and query strategies that maintain transactional integrity while accommodating increasing application and data demands.
Contribute to frontend development where necessary, partnering with UI engineers on React and TypeScript applications and end-to-end feature delivery.
Guide technical discussions, conduct architecture and code reviews, and lead investigations into application failures, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
Introduce reusable components, shared tooling, and consistent engineering practices to improve development efficiency and reduce operational complexity.
Assess emerging technologies and proposed system changes, balancing technical benefits against delivery timelines, maintenance requirements, scalability, and financial considerations.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of delivering and maintaining complex applications in production environments.
Advanced proficiency in Python and demonstrated experience building backend platforms, REST APIs, and scalable application services. Django experience is preferred.
Practical experience with PostgreSQL and AWS infrastructure supporting production applications.
Familiarity with modern frontend development, particularly React and TypeScript, and the ability to contribute to full-stack delivery when business needs require it.
Experience influencing architectural direction, optimizing infrastructure, improving application performance, and maintaining highly available business-critical services.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with developers, product teams, and senior business stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
